The Miraculous Octopus

This week join Roger Billings and the Science Live crew in an exploration of one of nature’s most remarkable creatures: the octopus!

We’ll learn about the octopus’s remarkable camouflage abilities and the science that allows them to change color and texture in as little as 200 milliseconds. Did you know they have no backbone and not one, but three hearts! Discover more fascinating facts and fun stories about these remarkably intelligent creatures.

This episode also includes updates on Acellus World – a new cyber school program, and don’t miss the hilarious segment where R51 attempts — with mixed results — to train an octopus named Octagon.

The Octopus is my brother’s favorite episode on Octonauts. I’ll have to share this video with him.

The ability for the octopus to use it’s pigments within it’s layers of skin to blend so quickly to it’s surroundings is amazing.

It’s ability to recognize faces and plan ahead are some unique features compared to other ocean animals that I found interesting.

Interesting episode. By the way Octopi is not the correct plural of Octopus. Octopi derives from a common mistake that the word is Latin, thus octo-pi. But the word octopus is really ancient Greek so the correct plural is octo-puses, but octopi is okay to use in casual texts. So in short, use octopuses in informational texts or if you want to be correct, but use octopi when you are just talking to friends or in casual means.

Okay 2 questions on the Roger Billings picture system thingy.
    1. sometimes I will watch it and answer another day pr watch some one day and some another. Will that count? Because I still watch it but not all at once.
    2. Do I have to hit post a comment first for it to record my time and count? Because I tend to watch it on the normal Acellus and then hit post a comment when I have something to say but then it restarts the episode. So does that still count?
