The Miraculous Octopus

This week join Roger Billings and the Science Live crew in an exploration of one of nature’s most remarkable creatures: the octopus!

We’ll learn about the octopus’s remarkable camouflage abilities and the science that allows them to change color and texture in as little as 200 milliseconds. Did you know they have no backbone and not one, but three hearts! Discover more fascinating facts and fun stories about these remarkably intelligent creatures.

This episode also includes updates on Acellus World – a new cyber school program, and don’t miss the hilarious segment where R51 attempts — with mixed results — to train an octopus named Octagon.

I thought it was cool that some of the batteries have expensive components inside of them and that it was bad for the environment and they have to put microbes of dirt to give it power but not to much, and I thought it was cool that the octopus can camouflage into it’s environment and how they do it, and that the octopuses skin is like a HD TV and that they are like pixels but they are not, they are called chromatophores, and they are like mirrors, and some people think that they are colorblind! And that there blood is blue and that I think the octopuses are the smartest animals in the sea.
