Integrity in Education

In this episode of Science Live, Dr. Roger Billings delivers a powerful and personal message on integrity in education β€” and why real knowledge is always worth the work.Β

Then explore the breathtaking science behind bald eagles β€” from their extraordinary 20/4 vision and UV light detection to the winglet technology inspired by eagle feathers now used on commercial aircraft.

Plus, discover the remarkable recovery story of how bald eagles were brought back from fewer than 420 nesting pairs to over 70,000 today β€” one of the greatest endangered species success stories in American history.

Why does an eagles eye see better than a human eye if its eye has 20/5 and we have 20/20?

    Reply
    • Science Live

Thanks for your question Nia! 20/20 means you can see clearly from 20 feet away. But 20/5 means an eagle can see the same tiny details from 20 feet that we’d only see if we were 5 feet away! Their eyes are way sharper, like built-in super binoculars. πŸ¦…
