Cleaning the Blue Water

In this episode of Science Live, Dr. Roger Billings explores laboratory science with a distillation experiment that purifies dirty water into crystal-clear pure water right before your eyes. Dr. Billings then uses an X-ray analyzer to reveal the minerals and salts hidden in ordinary tap water.

The episode also takes viewers behind the scenes at Acellus Studios, showcasing the Hollywood-grade equipment used to create cinematic Acellus courses — including professional Blackmagic cameras, advanced lighting and color grading with DaVinci Resolve, green screen technology, gimbal rigs, and a 360° camera for smooth on-location filming.

I’m really hoping this is why tap water tastes different than other water. I know all water is water, but it seems like every type I have always has a different taste than the last. It’s odd, and some of my friends swear that there is no difference between any of them, but this would be solid evidence supporting my claim.

I really appreciate you getting in the lab and showing the experiment – not just R51, but the real stuff. My little brother likes watching too. Also, I agree making the water blue was a better choice than yellow, ha.
