Cleaning the Blue Water
In this episode of Science Live, Dr. Roger Billings explores laboratory science with a distillation experiment that purifies dirty water into crystal-clear pure water right before your eyes. Dr. Billings then uses an X-ray analyzer to reveal the minerals and salts hidden in ordinary tap water.
The episode also takes viewers behind the scenes at Acellus Studios, showcasing the Hollywood-grade equipment used to create cinematic Acellus courses — including professional Blackmagic cameras, advanced lighting and color grading with DaVinci Resolve, green screen technology, gimbal rigs, and a 360° camera for smooth on-location filming.

Fascinating Science Live today!
Hello from Idaho
Hi everyone
I can really see how much Tobias really loves camera techniques and the film industry when ever he talks about it! Film and animation has the best overlap of artists and tech people, and it’s a very inivative space to be a part of. I knew technically knew what hard water was at the beginning of watching this episode, but now I have a deeper understanding of what it really is and what’s inside of it. PSA to anyone reading this, if you have water that is filtered by reverse osmosis, make sure that you are getting some kind of Floride, either by toothpaste or by suppliments, because it’s very healthy for your teeth and reverse osmosis can take out the helpful Floride as well as all the mineral residue Dr. Billings showed us.
Hi from Nevada
Thank you for the videos!

Hi from Houston, TX
I’m looking forward to Mr. Edmond’s future classes! He does such a good job of making the videos entertaining and understandable. I’m especially excited for the conspiracy theories course!!!
hi from SC!
Cleaning the blue water is important for protecting marine life and keeping oceans, rivers, and lakes healthy. People can help by reducing plastic waste, recycling, and properly disposing of trash instead of throwing it into waterways.
hi from Mississippi!!!!
This was so interesting to watch and learn about!!!

When does Science Live stop being required for people on the Roger Billings scholarship?
Also, when does it start being required again after the summer?
I’m just curious because while I may work over the summer, I’m probably not going to tune into every single episode over the summer since it’s not necessarily required.
