The Miraculous Octopus

This week join Roger Billings and the Science Live crew in an exploration of one of nature’s most remarkable creatures: the octopus!

We’ll learn about the octopus’s remarkable camouflage abilities and the science that allows them to change color and texture in as little as 200 milliseconds. Did you know they have no backbone and not one, but three hearts! Discover more fascinating facts and fun stories about these remarkably intelligent creatures.

This episode also includes updates on Acellus World – a new cyber school program, and don’t miss the hilarious segment where R51 attempts — with mixed results — to train an octopus named Octagon.

i loved learning about octupi! i always found them to be so ineteresting, and relatively funny about how some scientists claim that the octupus was the cloest thing we had to alien life! to me that shows how different they are in the scale from animals and mammals closer to our own biology! something new i did learn about them in this science live was that they have 9 brains! i was aware that they had multiple hearts but the comment on their brains was news to me! Can’t wait to be here for the next science live!
