The Miraculous Octopus

This week join Roger Billings and the Science Live crew in an exploration of one of nature’s most remarkable creatures: the octopus!

We’ll learn about the octopus’s remarkable camouflage abilities and the science that allows them to change color and texture in as little as 200 milliseconds. Did you know they have no backbone and not one, but three hearts! Discover more fascinating facts and fun stories about these remarkably intelligent creatures.

This episode also includes updates on Acellus World – a new cyber school program, and don’t miss the hilarious segment where R51 attempts — with mixed results — to train an octopus named Octagon.

Thank you so much Dr. Billings! I greatly appreciate the effort and sacrifices that you put into this program. It has allowed me to learn some incredible new things while simultaneously having the time to pursue my goals and dreams. I really enjoyed this lesson, I think octopuses are incredible creatures, and I would love to see one in person some time. Could we add some octopus merchandise in the Acellus store? I think it would be really neat to have an octopus on a sweatshirt with the Acellus logo on it!
