Inside the Acellus Science Fair 2026

This was the biggest Acellus Science Fair ever! In this episode, we showcase the most creative and impressive projects from elementary, middle, and high school students around the world.

From soda geysers and Arduino-powered tackle dispensers to a teen driving safety simulator, a biogas generator solving power outages in Puerto Rico, and an AI app that identifies bacteria with 92% accuracy — these young inventors are solving real-world problems with science and engineering.

Plus: The incredibly inspiring story of Acellus graduate Tyler Scott, who continued his studies from a hospital bed while battling terminal leukemia — and walked out cancer-free.

Also featured:

• NASA’s X-59 supersonic jet breaks the sound barrier for the first time (and it’s quieter than you’d expect)
• The explosive history of fireworks, just in time for America’s birthday

Acellus students are proving that anyone can be an inventor. Which project impressed you the most?

Makes you wonder what we’d be using to celebrate instead of fireworks had they not done a little experimenting all those years ago!

It’s amazing how a bee’s environment can turn them into a queen. Imagine the world we could live in if humans nurtured our environment the way that bees do.

The cockpit of NASA’s X-59 Quest experimental aircraft is unique because it does not have a forward-facing window.
Because the plane is designed with an incredibly long, pointed nose to suppress sonic booms, the pilot’s forward line of sight is entirely blocked by the aircraft’s frame. To fix this, NASA and Lockheed Martin had to get creative.
