The cockpit of NASA’s X-59 Quest experimental aircraft is unique because it does not have a forward-facing window.
Because the plane is designed with an incredibly long, pointed nose to suppress sonic booms, the pilot’s forward line of sight is entirely blocked by the aircraft’s frame. To fix this, NASA and Lockheed Martin had to get creative.
I didn’t know that there was a constant sonic boom, or that China made gunpowder. Some of those science fair projects look awesome.
