Integrated Circuit Introduction
February 11, 2026 • EPISODE 297
Why were integrated circuits so important in making computers smaller, faster, and more powerful? In this episode of Science LIVE, Roger Billings introduces the integrated circuit. Discover how integrated circuits helped shrink computers while making them faster and more powerful—paving the way for today’s technology. The episode also highlights the excitement surrounding the great comet of 2026 and the engineering behind high-speed bullet trains.

Great video I’ll be looking for that comet.
I learned so much from this episode. Thank you.
We will be on the lookout for a comet
It’s so interesting how something so massive and inefficient by modern standards can become so small and powerful with time
I loved learning about the trains and comet!
Circuits are cool,
That is crazy that the comet can be even brighter than the moon!
The bulletin train was cool
I love the part about the trains 🚂
I love the commet
I really don’t know what to name the comet thou.
another great science live!!! look forward to next weeks!!
I learn so much from here! I think we should name the comet comet!
I learn so much from here! I think we should name the comet Acellus too!
I saw the space rocket the other day and it was incredible. Would love to see the comet of 2026!
LOL, I love R51!
That’s a crazy fast magnetic train
Comets and space are so cool!
comets are cool
Very interesting video, learned a lot of new things.
acellus is coollllll.
We will be looking for a comet here in Texas!!
That is a very overwhelming job, great they didn’t give up. We went on the cog rail up to Pikes Peak in Colorado and learned how challenging that was to build as well
Hello. from Texas.
Going to ride the trains in Japan this summer!
bullet trains are so interesting!
How long has circuits bee around for
Does the smaller the circuit board make it better or is that just a plause to fit in more smaller compact items?
Did dr. john say comment or comet pls tell me
This video is very educational and I am proud to be a part of Acellus!
Space is absolutely amazing
We will look for comets! They are so cool
I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for comet.
I can’t wait to watch next week’s live!
This was especially inspiring!
I will look out for a comet!!!!
If the wires used on the bullet trains spontaneously broke completely through while the train was moving at full speed, would the damage and the force from the trains speed be enough to fling it of the rails and cause a massive crash?
I love Science L!ve!
i love getting to see comets. I’m so excited i got to learn about them today!
I’m very excited about the comet because I’ve never seen one before but there is a chance that it won’t come but I have hope in it. Also, I really liked hearing about how the bullet train came to be and the journey it went through to change the world.
i love puppies and kittens like Alvin and i play the violin like Evan 🙂
If you send a text how does it go to only one phone and not all of them.
Comets are so beautiful! I remember one that we could see a few years ago I think. I’m so excited for these next ones!
excited for the comet! astrology is so interesting!
Can’t wait to look for the comet!
i just love how science live keeps teaching me new things, can we learn more about the behavior of certain animals
I think the comet should have a name that reflects the fact it’s brighter than the moon or something along those lins. Anyway, this was a pretty interesting video! Caleb and David have done it again with their game show and the inventioneers are just amazing, I escpecially like Eric and Malachi
Science is an awesome thing. Acellus has been great learning experience.
So happy for another Acellus live!
I loved hearing about the comet. I enjoy looking at the stars at night. I hope to see the comet.
wow i learned alot i did not think i would learn and also this stuff is just pretty cool
Thomas Edison was a great inventor.
How do comets form?
Circuit are cool.
This live was great I look forward to next week’s!
So, what else can integrated circuits be used for?
Inventors are so cool and smart.
I really enjoy these videos.
I can’t wait to see the comet. Thanks for the information.
I would love to be able to go on a train one day!
I learn so much from this science live and I love it so much.
We will be on the look out for a comet here in Texas!
I really hope the comet doesn’t get too close to the sun so it will be the great comet of 2026. I would really love to be able to see it.
Love learning about astronomy
I found the part about Thomas Edison’s birthday was interesting and the part discussing the Scientific Method.
I’m from the Southern Hemisphere and I’ll be keeping an eye on the comet! Caleb and David did a great job today, it was full of detail and made me laugh a lot.
I enjoyed the video i Love acellus academy
It’s so cool that we are going to have comets this year!
It is fascinating how cool comets can look like up close. I also loved learning about integrated circuits and how they work.
Why dont they make a bullet train in usa ?
I liked the “You Build It, We Judge It” part! However, I still think Eric deserved the golden button.
A Proteja if thats how you spell it, sounds really cool
i loved learning about the comet
Malachi’s circuit is so intresting!
science is beginning to be my favorite subject! We love looking at the stars using my mom’s telescope! She allows us to name all the new ones we find.
Science is beginning to be my favorite subject!
The comet should be named Blazing Trail
I cant wait to see all the comets this year brings
R-51 is so funny
I do have a telescope maybe I’ll try to have a look at the comet.
can everyone aorund the world see the same comet at the same given time ?
That’s so interesting that inventors day is on thomas edisons birthday!
I wonder what to name the new comet tho I do want to see it if I can so I’ll be on the watch for it
I think comets and all things space related are really cool
This is so amazing
I love Acellus!!!
I never knew that Edison’s birthday was on National Inventers Day! That’s super cool. 🙂

Someday I want to ride the bullet train.
That was a cool science live!!
It should be called AC or Acellus comet
I love National Inventor’s Day!
Oh wow a comet?! Those things always excite and interest me so very much! I’m definitely gonna tell my parents about it! Also, what makes integrated circuits so integrated and important and cool? I’d like to know you guys’ opinions and thoughts on this topic! Such a fun and cool/interesting video/topic!
it’s so cool that there’s a national inventors day! i’ll make sure to celebrate it next year
It’s really cool that Japan built a bullet train that travels over 100 miles per second! Also, they should keep Lovejoy as the name of the comet. It’s a great name!
great episode comets are really cool to learn about happy Valentine’s Day
I hope I get to see the comet!
It is my dream to visit Japan!
What are some of the advantages of using integrated circuits?
How many comets do you see in a year?
What are the main components of an integrated circuit?
the bullet train part was really neat, will they make them in the us
Will for sure be on the lookout for the comet.

Wow those comets sound super cool!
How big is the average comet? Hm. I wonder.
i will make sure watch for a comet
I think Comet Z is a great name idea and i think that’s what the comet should be named.
This weeks science live was lots of fun and very interesting! Now I want to go to Japan and ride the train.
I liked the part about comets and bullet trains!
I liked how fast the train was, it was faster than the train I was on.
Thanks for another great lesson!
I’ll definitely be on the lookout for the comet.
I cant wait for the comet! Its hard to imagine life without electricity. We depend on it for so much.
We should name a comet
ACELLUS
What affects the speed of an integrated circuit?
I hope I’m able to see the comet.
I love knowing about space stuff like the comet>
There is always so much cool information on Science Live. I am excited to see the comet.
