Introduction to Inventioneering
October 29, 2025 • EPISODE 284
What does it really take to create something that changes the world? In this episode, Dr. Roger Billings introduces Inventioneering—the blend of creativity and engineering that turns ideas into reality. But inventioneering isn’t just for scientists and engineers—it can be applied to any career or project. Students are invited to take on a special challenge: design and submit their own t-shirt for a chance to have it featured in the Acellus Store!

Hi from Dallas Texas!
Today in the “Technology Spotlight” I learned a lot about ultrasound and sonograms and I think that a 4 dimensional sonogram is an incredible idea and from the images and clips Dr. John showed in the video I believe that this would be very useful and accurate (for humans of course not just pigs).
How much will the shirt cost
R-51 is really funny, he makes me laugh.
Hi from VN!! Science is the bestttt!! Really enjoy it.
Best history teacher.

Hello from Japan!! I love Science live, I learned so much from it, and its really fun to watch!
This was my first time watching science live. It was so much fun. I think a class on conspiracies and myths for history would so much fun. I think just talking about them is so much fun, a whole class would be amazing.
It was an interesting and inspiring episode to watch this week. It really gives me motivation to watch the science lives each week. I’m looking forward to the next one!
How do I know a problem is worth an invention?
Hi from California!
I’m from Tennessee. I wonder if you could review the distinction between an invention and a discovery.
I like that Acellus has decided to add conspiracy theories as a course.
I love Dr. Roger Billings his is so funny and makes my day sometimes.
The thoughts about conspiracy theories was intriguing
I like how you talked about how you have to put work and effort into what you want to do it wont just come you have to work for it. And when you work hard enough you will acheive it was really inspiring.
When inventing, if you have inspiration, hard work does not seem hard.
I like that T-shirt “A mean Oh acid “. It sure has an attitude!
I’m from Hawai’i n I love to learn about science
Science Live is interesting to me because of all the different topics they talk about with each separate live.
I love R-51

These videos make me want to keep learning about Science
Hi from Tennessee! I am excited for the new course. I like the t-shirt idea as well. A part that amazed me was how a 3d picture of a pigs liver was able to be made and its so detailed

I love to do coding. I wish I could go that class in May by Mr. Todd. It sounds like it will be really interesting and fun. I hope I can do the course when it comes out.
Wow! This was fun to watch! I love the pumpkin guy.
It is fascinating to know how well people improve with practice in coding being exposed in early years of school, and how it effects and shows progress in other subjects! I wonder if it is because coding could help encourage creativity
Hi, Mr. Billings I hope your doing well.
I did not know about coding statistics and how beneficial coding is for students. I thought it’s super cool we’ve added a intro to coding course to acellus! I learned a lot about cameras and how they started off as something much bigger then the small cameras we have today. I’d love to take the conspiracy theory course with Dr. Edmond. I thought the t-shirts were hilarious. I always learn so much from these videos. From Missouri!
DraB said that a creative bedroom/work place can help you have more creative ideas and creative skills. But how could you make your work space more creative.
Here!
Can’t wait for new course!

To begin with, it is cool that Todd Edmond is on this episode Todd Edmond is a very smart teacher, and I think that he could become the next Roger Billings. Also, it is so amazing how much NASA has improved. For example, in the start of NASA . For example, NASA they could have not made such a awesome aircraft like the one they just made NASA has come a long way and NASA is only going to get better from here.
Loved the area 51 part and conspiracy theory!

Hi Acellus I have created a shirt for people to know what to be a homeschool is.
I love watching the Roger Billings Scholarship Program. I enjoyed that Dr. Billings has dedicated his life to advancing education through technology.
Inventioneering is about coming up with new ideas and turning them into real things that can help people or make life easier. It’s kind of like being an inventor and an engineer at the same time because you get to imagine something and then figure out how to build it. Also can’t wait to see the new t-shirts!
Wednesday is my favorite day of the week. Why, you ask? Science Live. I live for Acellus. I was BORN for it. First thing I think about when I wake up? Acellus. Last thing I think about before going to sleep? Acellus. When I’m dreaming? Also Acellus. It’s all I do. Science Live is the highlight of my week, EVERY week. I eagerly wait for hours, ticking down the seconds until the show starts. I cook a Thanksgiving-esque feast every Wednesday in honor of Science Live. And I have a shrine set up in the corner of my room to the biology teacher Mark Rogers, too. Thank you so much Acellus, I love you!!! <3 ;^) I love the sonogram machine
Hello from Michigan! I really liked the camera presentation, Dr. Tobias is really funny!

Mr Billings is very funny, i wish he made some appearances in some of my classes.
Hi from Spokane, WA! Tuning into Science Live is the highlight of every week!
The video was very interesting, thank you for the advice on how to inventionneer and not to lose sight of my goals. This episode of Science Live truly inspired me to become a better version of myself. I especially loved the part were Doctor Tobias gave the speech on the history of the camera. I believe everyone should be like Steve Sasson, who went to extreme length to make his idea a reality, the digital camera.
R 51 is my favorite part of the science lives.
I’m excited for the opportunity to design a t-shirt idea. I can’t wait to see which ones get picked!

Making a t shirt sounds like a lot of fun. Im new to acellus from South Carolina but new classes is good. I also enjoy watching the science live.I love that I can see who is in the leaderboard on classmates. Only thing I think would be better is a live classmates to talk to other people my age.
