    The Beginning of Hydrogen

    October 16, 2024  •  EPISODE 235

Have you ever heard of Gold Hydrogen? Find out more on Science LIVE! This week, we dive into the story of how Roger Billings developed the world’s first hydrogen car and explore the potential of natural hydrogen deposits that could play a key role in shaping the future of energy on our planet.

    About DrB

Dr. Roger Billings is a visionary innovator whose work has touched the lives of millions of students and transformed the landscape of education. Widely known as “DrB” to the countless kids who benefit from his groundbreaking Acellus learning system, Dr. Billings has dedicated his life to advancing education through technology. As part of DrB’s lifelong commitment to supporting education, Science LIVE was launched as a way to “give back” by mentoring students in conjunction with the Roger Billings Scholarship Program.

“Why didn’t you quit?” Somebody asked. Roger Billings then said, “I wasn’t that smart. I was like a caveman screaming, “HYDROGEN, HYDROGEN!” He’s got passion and soul. We should be proud of Dr. RB for not giving up and even insisting that hydrogen works, still works, well done.

Hydrogen fuel has a high energy density, ignoring the weight of the storage tank. It’s better than gas and much better than batteries. Creating the hydrogen gas is akin to inefficiently charging high capacity batteries.

This is the most interesting Science Live episode I’ve seen yet! Hydrogen is extraordinary! I can’t believe there are so many different sources of it, and that we’ve been living on top of gold hydrogen that has been regenerating right below our feet.
Dr. Billings truly broke barriers in the science world. The story about the origin of his hydrogen engine made me believe that I can break barriers too. Sometimes what we think is impossible is really just undiscovered.
