Inventioneering

November 26, 2025  •  EPISODE 288

What does it really take to bring ideas to life? In this episode, Dr. Roger Billings takes us deeper into the world of inventioneering—the dynamic mix of creativity, engineering, and problem-solving that turns imagination into real-world inventions. He shows how inventioneering isn’t limited to tech or science—it can be applied to any creative or practical project. If you’ve ever had a spark of inspiration, this episode will help you learn how to shape it into something meaningful and impactful.

    Thanksgiving was so much fun.
It’s so cool that scientists are getting close to splitting water in to 1 hydrogen atom and 2 oxygen atoms that is really good for hydrogen cars.

The fact that humans made something that can go the speed of sound blows my mind and reducing the sonic boom is so cool cause the sonic boom is so loud that it made flying at the speed of sound over land illegal. So hopefully we will all be going the speed of sound.

Thank you for sharing this information and happy Thanksgiving and merry Christmas.

What I found most interesting was when Dr. Tobias taught us about how the battery was invented. Hundreds of years ago, a scientist in Leyden (Europe) invented a stactic electricity machine in which he used to “charge” a jar full of liquid with a large metal pin in it. Then touching it, the metal pin shocked him with stactic electricity. He posted his findings in a newspaper and the experiment quickly became famous as scientists all over the world attempted it. A few years later, Benjamin Franklin was able to get his hands on one and immediately began experimenting to make the shock bigger. He then put multiple Leyden Jars together, linked them with a metal wire, and found that it made a much bigger shock, so large, in fact, that when he touched it, he got majorly injured. He then coined the term “battery,” because it reminded him of batteries of cannons on a battlefield.
