Hello from Kentucky. I loved today’s episode I learned about a binary near-Earth asteroid system with a large asteroid named Didymos and a smaller moonlet named Dimorphis that was hit by Earth material in order to test asteroid deflection technology and to alter Dimorphises orbit around Didymos.

My first week, the Nasa Dart mission was interesting 2022. So I read up more after. To intentionally crash into a asteroid wow. Micro chip control you can create so much now. I think R draino is going to need more than tweezers, matchbox, and a boring book to catch an alligator.

I wonder if this info on the DART test can maybe make asteroid interceptors on Earth, something powerful enough to change the direction of asteroids coming towards Earth, that would be pretty cool.

I loved this episode! My favorite part was the Technology Spotlight about the NASA spacecraft. The satellite intentionally crashed into the asteroid, Didymos, in an attempt to move it. Ultimately, they were able to judge that it was moved by the dust cloud that came after 5 hours. I can’t wait for the next episode!
