Inventioneering

November 26, 2025  •  EPISODE 288

What does it really take to bring ideas to life? In this episode, Dr. Roger Billings takes us deeper into the world of inventioneering—the dynamic mix of creativity, engineering, and problem-solving that turns imagination into real-world inventions. He shows how inventioneering isn’t limited to tech or science—it can be applied to any creative or practical project. If you’ve ever had a spark of inspiration, this episode will help you learn how to shape it into something meaningful and impactful.

Thank you for going over the situation about the Science Live Scholarship! I’ve been a little paranoid about missing Lives due to busy schedules and unavaliable technology, resulting in losing my scholarship. I’m glad that the requirements are a little bit flexible, so I still have it. Thank you!

I liked learning about the Leyden jar from the 1700’s made by a scientist in then city of Leyden. The jar would be filled with salt water and had a nail that went through the top of the jar and it was connected to a machine that produced static electricity. The machine would be tuned on and the electricity would run down into the nail and into the liquid. Years later Benjamin Franklin would be gifted a Leyden jar from a friend. He went on to do many more experiments with the jar.
