      How the Hydrogen Car Works

      December 18, 2024  •  EPISODE 244

Join Roger Billings on Science LIVE as he breaks down the fascinating technology behind hydrogen-powered cars. Learn how water is split into hydrogen and oxygen through electrolysis, how hydrogen fuel cells generate clean energy, and why hydrogen cars are a powerful step toward a sustainable future.

      About DrB

Dr. Roger Billings is a visionary innovator whose work has touched the lives of millions of students and transformed the landscape of education. Widely known as “DrB” to the countless kids who benefit from his groundbreaking Acellus learning system, Dr. Billings has dedicated his life to advancing education through technology. It is so amazing to me how Dr. Roger Billings had this wonderful idea and started making it into a reality at such a young age and is now helping people all over with his ideas.

Hydrogen is a gas that Mr. Billings used to make the first hydrogen car. But I always remembered Hydrogen is not H2O (water). Gases like fossil fuel are not good for the environment. Also I have a question:
Can hydrogen power trains and airplanes?
This video was beneficial to my mind. Thank you so much for making these videos!

Camron watched this video for credit. His comment is: I learned a lot on hydrogen cars and electricity. I never really knew how electrons travel, until now. Acellus is really great and will probably give me a big brain. Thanks for the quality education.

Welcome Ms Amanda for teaching the kindergarten children. I’m in high school now but remember loving science when I was young. It makes a difference when you have a great teacher.

Oh! Never mind, it goes backward… How does hydrogen and oxygen combining create energy?

Does the hydrogen car use water as fuel, and the technology splits the water into hydrogen and oxygen, thus releasing oxygen and using hydrogen?

I sincerely apologize for not being able to complete this science live on time and submit a question earlier. I’ve now watched the live from the “EPISODES” section/tab, and here are my questions that I’m curious about:
        1. What are the main advantages of hydrogen cars compared to electric cars?
        2. Also, what advancements are being made to improve the durability of hydrogen fuel cells?
Thank you so much! This live was very interesting and informative! I learned a lot!

Hydrogen cars! I watched this already and forgot to make a comment I hope the way I’ve been doing it saves my scholarship here as to I don’t have access to my Acellus email right now. Anyways, hydrogen cars are awesome and you guys explained it well. We should use hydrogen cars but how would the gases be affected in different climates and elevation? Also I have a question for you guys. Did you know that the first man to build a hydrogen powered car went missing?
